Can I have my tax refund added to my Wisely card?

Yes, if you have a Wisely Direct or an upgraded Wisely Pay card (see the back of your card to determine card type). An upgrade1 is required to add your tax refund to your non-upgraded Wisely Pay card. If your card is not yet upgraded,1 click here. To learn more about upgrades1 click here.

Your tax refund will be added to your Wisely card after your tax return is processed and completed by the IRS. To check the status of your refund, please visit the IRS website.

How do I direct deposit my tax refund to my Wisely card?

1. Log in to get your Wisely account and routing numbers
2. Enter them in the refund section of your tax return
3. Select checking as your refund type
4. Set up account alerts in the myWisely app6 so you will know when your refund arrives

What is the status of my tax refund and how can I check?

Your tax refund will be added to your Wisely card as soon as your return is processed and completed by the IRS. However, our customer care team does not have information on when your tax refund will arrive. If everything has been entered correctly and the IRS accepts your tax returns, your refund will be loaded directly into your Wisely Pay account. To check the status of your refund, please visit the IRS website. The IRS website is updated once every 24 hours with information on the status of your tax refund.

How can I use my tax refund added to my Wisely card?

Use your card for everyday purchases:
Once your refund is added to your Wisely card, you can use your card on the phone, online, or in any store everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted and where Debit Mastercard is accepted. You can also add your Wisely card to your mobile wallet. Pay with a single touch anywhere Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay® or Google Pay™ is accepted.

Paying bills:
You can pay merchants who accept Debit Visa or Mastercard. Contact your billers/retailers for their direct bill payment options as third-party fees may apply. You will also be able to use the services of a third-party bill pay4 provider by logging into your account on the myWisely mobile app.6 Please refer to the separate terms & conditions and fees pertinent to the bill payment service provider.

Recurring monthly payments (such as mobile phone):
Contact your biller/retailer for their direct bill payment options to see if they accept card payments. If they do, enter in your card information into the recurring billing payments form.
